Stark County Family Council is the Regional Prevention Coordinator of the Northeast Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council, which serves 11 counties: Ashland, Columbiana, Holmes, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne.

Instructions for Applying:
- Applications under this announcement must be received by the Northeast Ohio Regional Prevention Coordinator no later than 3:00 pm on December 2, 2020. The application packet and any attachments must be emailed to Jackie.firstname.lastname@example.org. No faxed or paper application packets will be accepted. Please include the following in the subject line of your email: “Name of Organization- REQUEST FOR NE OHIO REGIONAL PREVENTION COUNCIL FUNDING”.
- Each complete proposal will be considered by the NE Ohio Regional Child Abuse and Neglect Prevention Council RFP Review Team. Any applicant who fails to submit a complete application packet to the NE Ohio Regional Prevention Council will not receive consideration.
- Once you submit your application packet electronically, you will receive an email confirming receipt. If you do not receive a confirmation email within two business days after submitting your application packet, please contact the NE Ohio Regional Prevention Coordinator at Jackie.email@example.com
Ohio Children’s Trust Fund NE Regional Prevention Council
The creation of eight (8) Ohio regional prevention councils was established in ORC 3109.171 in 2016. Funding from the Ohio Dept. of Job and Family Services supports the work of the regional councils.
The Stark County Family Council was selected to serve as the NE Regional Prevention Council Coordinator. The Northeast region consists of 11 counties: Ashland, Columbiana, Holmes, Lorain, Mahoning, Medina, Portage, Stark, Summit, Trumbull and Wayne.
Membership of the NE Regional Council consists of two (2) commissioner-appointed representatives from each of the 11 counties.
The Regional Prevention Council is charged with completing a comprehensive regional needs assessment and developing and implementing a regional child abuse and child neglect prevention plan, utilizing primary and secondary child abuse prevention strategies. They are also charged with developing and implementing a Regional April Child Abuse and Child Neglect Prevention Month Activities.
There are three (3) regional council workgroups, who membership consists of both council and non-council members: 1) Regional Needs Assessment, 2) Regional Prevention Plan, and 3) Regional Prevention Month Planning.
